Yobe To Enrol 40,000 Almajiri, 25,000 Girl Child In Public Schools

Yobe State plans to enroll 40,000 Almajiris and 25,000 girl children in its public schools.

Already, the World Bank is supporting the State Government with $3 million to implement the better education service delivery for all.

Chairman of the state Universal Basic Education board, Goni Ibrahim, announces this at a master trainers workshop in Damaturu.

Ibrahim says there are 800 learning centres for the Almajiris where they will be taught reading, writing and simple arithmetic.

The state, according to SUBEB chairman, also has 500 learning centres for the girl child
