World bank has agreed to give Nigeria a 3 billion dollars loan to finance the expansion and distribution of electricity in the country.
The credit could be expanded to 4 billion dollars.
The 3 billion dollars loan is to be disbursed by the bank to Nigeria in four tranches of 750 million dollars each.
Finance minister, Mrs Zainab Ahmed, made this known to newsmen in Washington dc, at the world bank/imf annual general meeting.
She said that a Nigerian delegation would visit the bank in april next year, to obtain approval for the first tranche of the 3 billion dollars loan.
