Millions of pensioners in the country will soon smile as there are moves to review their monthly pensions.
The national salaries, incomes and wages commission says the pensioners will not be left out of the new national minimum wage and consequential adjustment.
The commission’s acting chairman, Ekpo NTA, gives this indication while receiving the national president of the national union of pensioners, Abel Afolayan, in his Abuja office.
NTA explains that the commission is working on the upward review of pensions, and is not waiting for agitation by pensioners.
The proposed increase in pension, according to NTA, was considered during the recent negotiations of the new national minimum wage, and at one of the meetings of the federal executive council.
The pensioners union’s president had earlier told him that most of the pensioners are depending on their token which is below n10.
