VP Advocates State Policing

VP Advocates State Policing

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has advocated the establishment of a state police force for the take-off of the community policing to address the challenges of internal security.

Osinbajo made the call in Abeokuta, at the twentieth memorial service of Nigeria’s first female industrialist, Chief Esther Bisoye Tejuoso, who was the third Iyalode of Egbaland.

The Vice President indicted the police force for their failure to track down the killer of the late industrialist, 20 years after.

He said there was the need to look into the administration of justice in Nigeria, and for police to deploy technology in investigations of crimes.
