VCs, Ministers meet on Post UTME hold next week

Education Minister, Mallam Adamu Adamu and the Universities Vice Chancellors are to meet over the modality for admitting students who passed the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

The minister recently directed the universities, to stop the Post UTME, on the ground that it amounts to duplication of UTME.

Education Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Folashade Yemi-Esan, said the meeting aims at working out modalities for admitting candidates who scaled through UTME.

Others expected at the meeting holding next week in Abuja, are the universities’ admission officers and other major stakeholders, adding that the Minister’s pronouncement on UTME still stands and must be complied with.
