VC Wants TETFUND Extends To Private Universities

Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, has called for the extension of the allocation of Tertiary Education Fund (TETFUND) to private universities in the country.

Professor Eyitayo Ogunbodede warned against the continued discrimination against private universities in the disbursement of the fund.

He asked Government to take his advice, or it would be taken unaware.

Ogunbodede, who made the call at the Anniversary Lecture of the Achievers University, Owo, warned that the time would come when private universities would dominate the country’s University sector.

The Vice Chancellor explained that the decay that crippled the country’s public primary and secondary education is already creeping into the public tertiary education.
