U.S. Ambassador to Nigeria, Stuart Symington, has asked Nigerians to think more of the problems facing the country, than the 2019 polls.
The envoy said that 2019 polls will come and go, but the issue of developing the Nigeria will remain.
The Ambassador speaking at an event marking the 2018 World Earth Day at the University of Ibadan, expressed concern that Nigerians will spend more time on what will happen in 2019.
He, however, said that Nigerians will not lose a day or a year in history, if they sit down to find a solution to their problems and the issue of unemployment.
He said ” I want to challenge you, you are the eyes of Nigeria, you are also the eyes and ears of Nigeria. Yankari game reserve in Bauchi is one of the most beautiful in the world, how many of you have been to Obudu cattle ranch? How many have been to Lokoja in Kogi state? These are beautiful places. Nigerians are very blessed.
“What I want to do is to help Nigerians hear Nigeria. Help Nigerians see Nigeria. So Nigerians should think about this year rather than 2019. There is no Nigerians without Nigeria.”Please subscribe to our newsletter
