There was a mild uproar in the House of Representatives, over the defection of two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members in the house to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defecting PDP lawmakers are, Zephania Jisalo of Abuja Municipal Authority Council-Bwari federal constituency, and Ahmed Tijani representing Okene-Ogori-Mangoa federal constituency in Kogi State.
The uproar began after the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara, read the letters from the two lawmakers, who based their decision on the division within PDP.
Objecting strongly to the excuse, Minority Whip, Yakubu Barde, asks the house to declare their seats vacant, citing section 68 of the 1999 constitution to back up his demand.
His demand generated instant opposition, which held up plenary for about 30 minutes.
