UNILORIN Expels Final Year Student Who Assaulted Lecturer

University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has expelled a student who assaulted a female lecturer in the institution.

A final year Microbiology student, Salaudeen Anuoluwa, had assaulted a female lecturer for refusing to help him graduate” following his failure to do the ‘Mandatory Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES).

The institution’s spokesman, Kunle Akogun, said the student was expelled after appearing before the Student’s Disciplinary Committee of the university.

According to Akogun, the committee has been given a 48 day deadline to appeal against his expulsion if not satisfied He added that the student had been handed over to the police for the assault.
