The fate of the disputed 2016 budget bill still hangs in the balance, as the federal executive council ended its meeting at the presidential villa, Abuja.
The meeting presided over by President Buhari, is a follow-up to the last April 8 edition, when the ministers were asked to cross-check the estimates of the 2016 budget bill forwarded by the national assembly to the president.
Briefing the state house correspondents on the outcome of the meeting, the budget and National Planning Minister, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, said there was no conclusion yet on when the budget bill would be signed.
The Minister, when asked for how long the stalemate would last, said talks over the budget bills were still ongoing. Both the presidency and leadership of the national assembly have been meeting since last week to resolve their differences on the bill, to pave the way for Buhari to assent to it
