The United Kingdom has promised to facilitate speedy repatriation of fund looted from the Nigerian treasury, by former political office holders.
British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Paul Arkwright, who made the pledge in Abeokuta, in a live interview on rockcity fm, said the looted fund belongs to Nigerian people, and would not be withheld by the uk government.
The diplomat, however, said repatriation of looted fund has legal implications, which always slow down the process of returning the loot.
Arkwright gave a pass mark to President Muhammadu Buhari on his first year in office, while appreciating Nigerians for their patience and understanding, despite the crisis facing the country.
The British High Commissioner also spoke on the renewed militancy in the Niger Delta region, advising that military solution be combined with dialogue and concrete measures, to reduce tension in the Niger delta region.
