Two Nigerians have been separately arrested in India for allegedly trafficking in drug.
One of them, identified as a 28-year-old Uchenna, was arrested with two other Indians for allegedly trafficking in drug module trafficking.
A police commissioner, Ravindra Yadavsay, alleges that 170 grammes of cocaine and 590 grammes of heroin were seized from them.
Also India’s Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) said it recovered 1.3 kilogrammes of cocaine stashed in 90 capsules from the stomach of another Nigerian in Delhi.
The Nigerian identified as Monday Tony Okonkwo, arrived IGI airport in an Ethiopian airlines plane on February 6.
Rajender Pal Singh, deputy director general of the bureau, said Tony was taken to Safdarjung hospital where an x-ray confirmed the presence of foreign bodies in his stomach.
He was kept in the hospital for two days during which he expelled 90 capsules containing 1.3 Kilogramme cocaine.
During interrogation, the Nigerian, according to him, revealed that he had ingested the drug capsules for three hours at a guest house in Lagos, and then took a flight to Lome.
From Lome, the suspect was said to have travelled to Addis Ababa from where he boarded a flight to New Delhi.
