Troops rescued missing school girls from Boko Haram, Yobe government says

Troops have rescued some of the girls missing from the Government Girls Secondary School in Dapchi, Yobe State, since Monday night’s attack by Boko Haram fighters on the school.

The troops who had been tracking the insurgents since the attack, rescued the students on Wednesday night at Jili Muwaiti village on the border between Yobe and Borno State.

The state government had put the number of students missing as at Wednesday morning at 46 after a roll call of students at the school.

Director General of Press Affairs to the state government, Abdullahi Begho, who announced the troops rescue of the girls, said they were rescued by troops on Wednesday night from the terrorists.

He promised that details on the number of the rescued students and their conditions will be made available later.
