TROOPS DEPLOYED TO BENUE TO STOP FULANI KILLING OF AGATU FARMERS

Troops have been deployed to Agatu communities in Benue state where armed Fulani herdsmen had killed scores of farmers in the past days.

Agriculture and rural development minister, Chief Audu Ogbeh, who made this known, said presidency could no longer tolerate such killings by Fulani herdsmen whom he said were foreigners.

Ogbeh said he would meet President Muhammadu Buhari to find solutions to the issue once and for all.

In the meantime, the minister said a bill would be sent to the national assembly to legislate against herdsmen roaming villages, cities and towns with their cattles.

Also, the minister said hectares of grasses which are being planted in the country for the consumption of cattle would be ready within the next three months
