Troops capture Malam Fatori from Boko Haram

Troops supported by Airforce jets have captured Malam Fatori town on the Borno state border with Chad Republic from boko haram forces in a fierce fighting on Wednesday.

The troops in a coordinated operation with the joint multinational task force took the town located on the bank of Lake Chad which had been in control of the terrorists since last year.

Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Usman, said several of the Boko Haram fighters were killed in the operations, while weapons were captured from those fleeing the town.

Usman said the troops would clear the remnant of Boko Haram forces in parts of Sambisa Forest and Mobbar and Guzama Local Government areas of Borno state.
