Defence Minister, Retired Major General Bashir Maigashi, has asked troops at the battle fronts in the north east region, to stop adopting defensive position against attacks by Boko Haram fighters.
He urges the front line troops to quit their defensive positions, and take the war to Boko Haram in their bases in the region.
General Maigashi made the call while addressing troops on Sunday at the war front in Gubio, Borno State, which had witnessed bloody encounters with the insurgents.
He says that government is improving on the quality of weapons for the fighting forces and their welfare.
Federal Government, according to the minister, is aware of troops who are paying supreme prices at the battlefronts, and is taking steps to alleviate the suffering of the families they left behind.
