Transport Council Fixes Speed Limit For Vehicles At 30 Km Per Hour

National council on transport has fixed the speed limit for vehicles plying road in urban areas across the country at thirty kilometre per hour.

The council’s director of strategy and administration, Emmanuel John, made this known in a statement released over the weekend.

He said the new speed limit was fixed at the retreat of the council held in Abuja.

According to him, the new speed limit is for all categories of vehicles.

The only exception are vehicles on emergency duties, such as ambulances, and those of fire service, security and traffic agencies and on patrol.

John said the council has ordered all relevant stakeholders to enforce the new policy.
