TRADERS SCRAMBLE FOR ABEOKUTA SHOPPING MALLS

Ogun state government has blamed the delay in allocating shops in the new shopping malls it constructed in Abeokuta to traders, on the huge number of applications it received from prospective Allottees.

works and infrastructures commissioner, architect Lekan Adegbite, speaking on a Rockcity fm ‘Daybreakshow’, said over five thousand applications have been received so far for allocation of over 1,000 shops in the shopping malls.

the shopping malls were constructed on the sites of Omida, itoku and Sapon markets as well as Isale Igbein, where traders were displaced for the massive road expansion project in  Abeokuta.

Adegbite who said the state government had been under pressures over the shopping malls, promised that the shops would be allocated after the completion of the projects

the commissioner also spoke on the recent collapse one of the shopping malls being constructed by the state government at Itoku market in Abeokuta metropolis.
