Thugs Disrupt Kogi INEC Stakeholders Meeting

Political hoodlums have disrupted a major stakeholders meeting on the Kogi State governorship poll in Lokoja, the State Capital.

The confusion was compounded when armed policemen fired tear-gas to disperse people at the meeting convened by independent national electoral commission (INEC).

Those on the high table at the meeting, included the INEC chairman, top traditional rulers, political parties leaders and other dignitaries in the state.

The trouble began when SDP governorship candidate, Natasha Akpoti was confronted by thugs who attacked when she was about to enter the meeting venue.

The security operatives implored her not to enter the meeting, but she refused, resulting into confusion and a surge of people and hoodlums.

Security operatives fired tear gas which infiltrated the hall and caused confusion in the hall with some of the dignitaries rushing to escape attack.

In the confusion, the Chairman Of SDP, Mouktar Attin, was beaten up by thugs who vandalized their campaign vehicles.
