Three prospective students seeking admission into the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, have lost their lives in an auto crash at Ibara village near interchange of the Abeokuta/Sagamu expressway.
Also, six other passengers including a two month old baby alongside her mother lost their lives in the accident.
The accident involved a truck marked LND 564 XP, loaded with granite and white Mazda bus marked TRE 556 XA.
Spokesman of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, said the truck which was travelling from Lagos, rammed into the bus which stopped along the road corridor to allow one of its passengers to answer the nature’s call from behind and later fell on it.
He said, “The driver of the truck lost control due to speeding because it was raining and rammed into the stationary bus from behind and dragged it in the process for some metres and later fell on it.”
Akinbiyi explained those injured and bodies of those killed in the crash had been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.
