Three police officers missing in Zamfara, another killed in Bayelsa

Three police officers have been declared missing after gunmen attacked a police post in Zamfara State.

The gunmen attacked the police post in Keta village in Tsafe local government area on Monday afternoon.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Mohammed Shehu, in a statement in Gusau, said the officers were missing after the attack.

He explained that the officers fled into the bush during the attack and not abducted.

Mobile policemen and operatives of the anti-kidnapping and anti-robbery squad are combing the bush in search of the missing officers and the gunmen.

Also, suspected Niger Delta militants have attacked a police patrol in Bayelsa state, killing a police sergeant.

A police corporal and a civilian were also injured in the attack which took place along Koko Road in the Ogbia local government area.

Spokesman of the state police command, Asinim Biswat, in a statement in Yenagoa, said the gunmen went away with the weapon of the slain police officer
