Three killed as pick-up van and truck plunge into river in Ogun state

A motor accident

A pick-up van and a truck have plunged into Omo River, at J-four, along the Ijebu Ode-Benin expressway in Ogun state, after colliding with each other.

The accident involved a Hilux van and a truck belonging to Dangote industries,

Three of the occupants of the vehicles, including two males and a female, died in the river.

Spokesman of Ogun state Traffic Enforcement and Compliance Corps (TRACE), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, who confirmed the accident, said it is caused by over speeding.

The accident came up less than 24 hours 12 people died in a commercial bus which plunged into Odo Oba river near Ogbomoso.
