Tension In Ogun As Youth Sack Herders And Cattle In Eggua

There is tense tension at Eggua in the Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State, following the sack of Fulani herders from the area

The attack on Fulani communities on Monday evening, took place following  the visit of a Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly called Sunday Igboho to the axis, after addressing supporters in Abeokuta earlier same day

Structures erected in the Fulani community, including the house of Seriki Fulani of Egua, and the cattle market were set ablaze

Chairman of Myetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria in the state, Alhaji Abubakar Dende says that members of the community during the attack fled into the bush

Meanwhile, the State Police Commissioner, Edwards Ajogun, had visited the scene of the attack to assess the situation

Spokesman of the state police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi says the commissioner during the inspection visit held a peace meeting with community leaders and Fulani settlers According to him, both parties had agreed to work together and fish out criminal elements in the axis
