Tension In Kaduna As Workers Begin Five Day Warning Strike

Residents in Kaduna State have started stockpiling  food and other essential items, ahead of the take off of five day warning strike today  by civil servants in the state

Ahead of the strike, motorists on Sunday engaged in the panic buying of petrol as National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers, directed its members to suspend supply of the product to the state

Also, electricity workers since last Saturday night, had plunged the state into blackout, following the disconnection of the state by staff of transmission company of Nigeria

President of Nigeria Labour Congress, Ayuba Wabba, arrived in Kaduna on Sunday to cordinate the strike, called to force the state government to reverse its sack of over 4,000 civil servants

Meanwhile, the state government had insisted it will not reverse the decision which it admits is painful, but says it is necessary in the intersest of people of the state whom are not civil servants
