Ten killed, 8 injured in Ogun ghastly auto crash on Lagos-Ibadan expessway

Ten persons have died in a ghastly motor accident at Aseese village near Ibafo, along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The accident which occurred on early hour of Tuesday, involves a truck, marked AAA 193 XP and unmarked Macopollo bus which was conveying 40 passengers.

Spokesman of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (trace), Commander Babatunde Akinbiyi, said that six other were also injured in the accident.

Akinbiyi explained that the bus which was coming from Enugu and heading towards Lagos, rammed into the stationed truck which failed to display a safety indicator to alert incoming motorists.

According to the trace spokesman, eight of the dead victims are male and two females while the injured are six males and two females.

He said the bodies of the victims had been taken to the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, while those injured are receiving treatment at the Lagos state emergency unit.
