Nigeria’s Super Eagles have jumped five places in the latest ranking by football governing body, FIFA.
Compared to the 52nd position they placed last month, the Super Eagles have climbed five places to 47th on the new rankings, after one win and one loss in the most recent international week, while they are placed sixth in the continent.
Tunisia, Senegal, Congo DR, Morocco and Egypt are the teams ranked ahead of Nigeria in Africa in that order.
The Super Eagles African Nations Cup group opponents —South Africa, Libya and Seychelles, are ranked a distant 72nd, 100th and 194th respectively.
Their Russia World Cup foes of Argentina, Croatia and Iceland dropped from their previous positions, with Argentina now sitting fifth, Croatia 18th and the Icelandic nation 22nd.Please subscribe to our newsletter
