The Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) has expressed concern over the circulation of substandard products in the country.
This, according to the agency is impacting negatively on the production capacity of genuine manufacturing and hurt the economy in Nigeria.
The agency’s Director General, Osita Aboloma, disclosed this while speaking at a sensitisation workshop on the executive order on ease of doing business in Nigeria held in Abuja.
He said substandard products in the market make it uneasy for producers to do business in Nigeria.
Aboloma explained that the executive order is geared at providing quality assurance on manufactured goods and imported products in Nigeria to compete with international standards.
According to Aboloma, it had become imperative for relevant stakeholders to get important details on the ease of doing business in Nigeria and take advantage of the incentives on reduced timelines and customers’ service satisfaction.
