Students of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY), Abeokuta, have shut down the institution, over the delay in releasing their final year results.
The students, who are mostly final year students at Higher National Diploma (HND) level, locked gates, prevented staff, including lecturers from gaining access into the campus.
Some of the affected final year HND students, told RockCity FM that their protests is over the non-release of their final semester examination by their lecturers.
Having finishing their examination since January, the students say, they had expected their results to be released earlier, to enable them mobilize for the National Youth Service Corps, in April.
They accused the lecturers of withholding the results due to the non-payment of their October to December 2017 salaries, when they went on a strike that shut down the polytechnic.
The polytechnic has been engulfed in crisis, since January last year, following its upgrading into the Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology, and the establishment of a new polytechnic at Ipokia.
