State Police: Saraki seeks support of states assembly to amend constitution

Senate asks FG to conduct Fresh Census in 2018

Senate has called for support from the 36 state houses of assembly to facilitate the passage of the state and community police forces in the ongoing constitution amendment.

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, made the call while receiving in his office, the speakers of the state houses of assembly, who came to appreciate the financial autonomy granted the state houses of assembly in the amended constitution.

Saraki, said that the senate had already begun the process to amend the constitution to accommodate the proposed police force, adding that the house of representatives is doing the same.

The senate explained that the draft bill of the proposed police force which will be ready before end of this month will be sent to the state houses of assembly for their consideration and approval.
