Soyinka wants convicted corrupt officials jailed

Nobel laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has said the ongoing fight against corruption is a battle for all Nigerians, irrespective of their positions and qualifications.        

Soyinka stated this while speaking to newsmen at the grand finale of the seventh edition of the Wole Soyinka international cultural exchange tagged: “corruption, a battle for the arts” held at the Obas complex within the governor office complex in Oke Mosan Abeokuta.

The famed playwright said anyone involved in corruption should be jailed after he or she had been convicted of corruption charges.                                           

Earlier, Governor Ibikunle Amosun, said the Ogun State Government will continue to sponsor and invite both national and international students for the international cultural exchange, beyond the time of his stay in office.
