A 30-year-old Nigeria has been shot dead by a South African police officer in Johannesburg.
The late Nigerian, ThankGod Okoro, a native of Ogbaku in the Awgu local government area of Enugu State, was killed on April 9.
Spokesman of Nigeria Union in South Africa, Habib Miller, said that Okoro was shot dead by an officer of South Africa police flying squad.
The police officer, according to him, claims that late Okoro attempted to stab him during a stop-and-search operation in Johannesburg.
An estimated 117 Nigerians are said to have been killed in South Africa since 2016.
