Shonekan faults those wishing Buhari dead

Chief Ernest Shonekan

Former Head of Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, has accused Nigerians wishing President Muhammadu Buhari dead, of not following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Shonekan speaking at the 2017 standing committee of the Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, in Abeokuta, explained that Jesus Christ admonished Christians to love their neighbours as themselves.

In other countries, the elder statesman said, people pray for their leaders when they are sick.

On the various challenges facing the country, Chief Shonekan blames the economic and political turmoil on some Nigerians who are expected put in practice the teaching of Jesus Christ in their undertaking, but failed to do so.
