The Ali Modu Sheriff PDP faction has rejected the proposal of the board of trustees for the conduct of the next National Convention of the party.
PDP BOT at its meeting in Abuja on Monday, had accepted the demand of the sheriff faction to hold the proposed convention in Abuja, instead of Port Harcourt.
The bot also dissolved the planning committee of the convention headed by Governor Nyesom Wike as demanded by the faction, but directs the Markafi caretaker committee to set up a new committee to plan the proposed convention.
But deputy national chairman of the sheriff faction, Doctor Cairo Ojuogbo, addressing a news conference in Abuja, said BOT’s proposal could not resolve the leadership crisis.
The faction demanded the dissolution of the Makarfi committee, and resignation of the BOT Chairman, Senator Walid Jibrin, saying his tenure has expired.
