Shell resumes export of Bonny Light Crude

The Royal Dutch Shell has resumed export of Bonny Light Crude through the Bonny Export Terminal in Rivers State, thereby raising Nigeria’s daily crude oil production.

The export terminal had been shut down since last May 10, following a leak in the major Nembe pipeline, resulting in suspension of crude oil export from the facility.

The oil company in a statement said export has resumed from the terminal which has the capacity for 400,000 barrels of crude oil.

The country’s daily crude oil production level had been rising in the past two weeks, following the ongoing talks with major stakeholders in the Niger Delta region and repair of oil facilities damaged by militants.
