Several people have been killed in a fresh attack by gunmen on a village in Benue state.
The attack on Tsecha village in Madarstev ward near Kasar, is believed to be a reprisal attack against last Tuesday’s attack by gunmen on a market in Zaki Biam, in which scores of people were killed and injured.
Spokesman of the state police command, Moses Yamu, confirmed the attack, which he said might be a retaliatory attack.
He put the number of people killed by the gunmen at three and pleaded with youths of the state to desist from taking the law into the hands, urging them to avail the police necessary information in the course of their investigations.
Already, Force Headquarters, had deployed police tactical force, to rid the state of killer gunmen, following a directive from President Muhammadu Buhari.
