Several people have died after a huge fire raged through the night at a West London 24 storey tower block,.
Eyewitnesses said they saw people trapped inside the burning Grenfell Tower, in North Kensington, screaming for help, and shouting for their children to be saved.
More than 50 people are being treated in hospital, said London Ambulance.
The Met police has set up an emergency number for anyone concerned about friends or family.
London fire commissioner Dany Cotton said there had been “a number of fatalities” but she could not say how many because of the “size and complexity” of the building.
Residents had reported concerns about fire safety in recent years, and witnesses said no alarm was sounded as the blaze took hold.
“I can confirm six fatalities at this time but this figure is likely to rise during what will be a complex recovery operation over a number of days. Many others are receiving medical care,” London Metropolitan Police Commander Stuart Cundy said.
