The Senate has suspended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege for 90 days for alleging that, the re-ordering of the 2019 election sequence was aimed at President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Senate also directed him to disband the pro-Buhari Parliamentary Support Group.
He was also directed to withdraw his litigation to stop the Senate from disciplining him for his comment on the poll sequence reorder.
His suspension follows the report of the Senate ethics, priviledges and public petition committee which investigated the comment, after a petition by Senator Dino Melaye.
The committee in its report found the senator guilty and recommended his suspension for one year, despite his early apology to the Senate on his comment.
Thee Senate President, Bukola Saraki, however, intervened and ordered the reduction of the suspension to 90 days. Please subscribe to our newsletter
