Senate Shifts 2020 Budget Bill Passage Till Next Week

The Senate has shifted its planned passage of the 2020 appropriation bill this week.

This followed the failure of the appropriation committee to submit its report during the Tuesday plenary

The committee’s chairman, Barau Jibrin told the plenary that the report is not ready.

He demands for one more week for the committee to finish work on the report and submit to the plenary on December 3.

The senate president, Ahmad Lawan, directs the committee to fast-track its work on the report and ensure it is laid before the senate on Tuesday, next week for passage.
