Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has cautioned those spearheading the return of the country to a unicameral legislature, and the scrapping of the present bicameral legislature.
He warns that parliamentary system will create problems for Nigeria.
The Senate President spoke at the convocation ceremony of National Institute Of Legislative and Democratic Studies Of The University Of Benin in Abuja.
Bicameral legislature, according to the Senate President is conscious designed to address the country’s diversity and ethnic composition, and to promote equity, peace and fairness to all sections of Nigeria.
In contrast, Lawan explains that parliamentary system will promote non representation, and exclusion from governance for most ethnic groups as well as inefficient representation for the minority groups.
