Senate, House Of Reps Receive Final 2020 Budget Bill’s Report

The senate and the House of Representatives have received reports of their separate committee on the 2020 appropriation bill, preparatory to being considered for approval.

Senate appropriation committee submitted its report to the plenary on Wednesday.

The senate president receiving the report from the committee chairman, Barau Jibrin, says it will be distributed to members on Thursday to enable them study it in preparation for its consideration.

Also, the finance committee of the House of Representatives submit its report to the plenary on Wednesday.

The committee raises the votes in the appropriation bill from n10.33 trillion to n10.59 trillion.

President Muhammadu Buhari last October 8, had submitted a n10.33 trillion appropriation bill to a joint session of the national assembly.

The senate president had promised that the budget bill will be passed before the Christmas break to return the country to the January-December budget cycle.
