Senate extends validity of UTME results to three years

Senate floor

The senate has passed a law allowing the results of the unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) to be used by candidates to process admission into tertiary educational institutions for three academic years.

The senate extended the validity of the UTME results, following its amendment of the act establishing the joint admission matriculation board (JAMB), which conducts UTME examination for applicants seeking admission into universities, polytechnics and college of education.

Until the amendment of the JAMB act, the UTME results is for processing admission for only one academic session.
