Security forces, including mobile policemen and soldiers have dislodged the suspected Niger Delta militants who raided Igando, Lagos on Tuesday from their camps in the area.
During the raid in the early hours of Tuesday, the militants blocked the busy Igando-Lasu expressway, as they looted homes of residents who sent a distress call to the police, who initially failed to dislodge them from the area.
Police deployed drones and helicopter in responding to attacks by the well-armed militants who invaded the area in large number.
Soldiers from op-mesa later deployed to engage the militants overpowered them and dismantled their homes and camps located besides the waterways in the area.
Meanwhile, residents are relocating from parts of Igando, especially those residing in Ewedogbo and pacific estates closed to the demolished camps of the militants.
