Security forces have moved into the creeks in Ikorodu-Arepo and Ibafo axis of Ogun and Lagos states, after days of attacks by Airforce jets on the positions of militants, who had been vandalizing oil pipeline and terrorizing people in the area.
The security forces entered the creek on Tuesday, after naval commando swept the waterways and destroyed obstacles erected by the militants.
They cleared the creeks of the camps earlier destroyed by Airforce jets, and search for the remnant of the militants who might still hiding in the mangrove swamp where they retreated to, since the attack began Thursday night.
The security forces did not encounter any resistance from the militants, who were nowhere to be found during the operation.
Military sources said the remnant of the militants had fled from the axis and are being tracked by security forces.
