The search has ended for pupils trapped in a collapsed building in Lagos metropolis.
Spokesman of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Kehinde Adebayo says that all the pupils trapped in the collapsed building had been evacuated.
The rescue operations, according to him, had ended with rescue workers reaching ground zero.
School bags, toys and clothes are seen in the pile of rubbles of the buildings.
So far, sixteen persons, mostly pupils were confirmed dead, and over 50 others rescued alive.
Adebayo says that the final casualty list is still being compiled and will be unveiled later.
Meanwhile, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode says some buildings in the area had been marked for immediate demolition.
The three storey building located at Ita Faji on Lagos Island, caved in on Wednesday morning while Kindergarten and primary school pupils were in classrooms in the second floor.
