Saraki, Tambuwal won’t dump APC – Gov Badaru

All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention committee has dismissed report that Senate President, Bukola Saraki and Governor Aminu Tambuwal are about to defect from the party to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

A national daily newspaper had reported that Saraki and Tambuwal are negotiating with pdp their imminent defection, ahead of 2019 polls.

But the national convention committee chairman, Governor Abubakar Badaru, speaking to the State House correspondents after a meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, said the report is false.

Badaru told the newsmen that APC is united, recalling that similar reports on some of other APC leaders had turned out to be false.

“It is not true that Tambuwal and Saraki are negotiating with the PDP, we have not heard of that. Some few weeks back there was rumour about the governor of Benue and he made it clear at our last NEC that he is not moving anywhere.

“Those are rumours flying around but they don’t have consequence.

“We are united.  Governor Tambuwal is with us and the Distinguish Senator Bukola Saraki, the Senate President is also with APC and we have not had any reason to think that they are negotiating elsewhere, no,’’ he said.
