Saraki accuses anti-graft agencies’ of tampering with recovered loot

RECESSION: Saraki calls for sale of national assets

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has accused some officials of the anti-graft agencies of tampering with loots that they recovered from indicted corrupt persons.

Saraki said the development is making it difficult for Nigeria to convince other countries to repatriate Nigeria’s looted assets.

The Senate President who made the allegation at a retreat on anti-corruption bill in Abuja, said the development confirms previous complaints by the Senate, that there is a lack of transparency in the management of the recovered loot.

Saraki, represented by Senate Deputy Leader, Bala Ibn Na’allah, says the Senate ad-hoc committee in its investigations, found that the anti-graft agencies failed to account for several properties recovered from corrupt people.
