Kano state government has suspended a director in its finance ministry over the alleged diversion of fund meant for the payment of salaries.
Also suspended are nine staff of the local governments implicated in the alleged fraud.
Head of the State Civil Service, Alhaji Muhammadu Naiya, in a statement also said that four staff of the Kano State Pension Fund trustees, including two top officials of Kano State Pensions Union, were handed over to the police for investigation.
The four pensions officials, according to the Head of Service, allegedly stole fund from the pensions scheme.
