Rush For Ogun Amotekun Jobs

Hundreds of applicants have shown up for the ongoing recruitment of personnel into the Ogun State’s Amotekun Corps

The recruitment, which is online and through physical collection of application forms, began last Friday, and is scheduled to end on Friday, this week

Within few hours on Wednesday morning, over 1,500 application forms were issued out to hundreds of people who thronged the state headquarters of the So-Safe corps at Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta

Several of the applicants who came from outside Abeokuta, say they slept overnight at the office of So-Safe corps, so that they will be among those to be attended to the following days

Head of So-Safe corps, Commadant Soji Gan zallo, in an interview with Rockcity FM correspondent, Yemi Eniola, says that several other applicants are applying online for the Amotekun jobs

According to Commandant Ganzallo, applicants include first degrees and master degree holders, polytechnic graduates, college of education graduates, as well as secondary and primary school leavers and those who could barely read or write

Following the rush, the commandant says there had been occasions when the office ran out of application forms which were quickly replenished by the state government

The So Safe commandant says the agency is strictly following the due process in the recruitment exercise to ensure the most qualified are given the jobs

The spokesman of the security agency, Moruf Yusuf, says the age of those who have applied so far range from 18 to 40 years
