Emergency workers are still searching the waters of the Lagos Lagoon to rescue 16 passengers missing when a boat capsized near Ikorodu.
Two of the passengers in the boat had been confirmed dead, while three others had been rescued.
General Manager of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Oke Osanyintolu who is leading the rescue operation, says searches are being intensified to rescue the 16 remaining passengers still in the Lagoon.
He adds that the boat was overloaded with passengers when it drowned on Saturday night.
The boat, according to Osanyintolu was overturned by a heavy current in the Lagoon.
