Remo notifies Ogun Government of Akarigbo death

The Remo Traditional Council has formally notified the Ogun State Government of the death of the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Michael Sonariwo.

The Elepe of Epe, Oba Adewale Osiberu, who led the council delegation to notify Governor Ibikunle Amosun at the Governor’s Office in Abeokuta, said the paramount ruler passed away last Saturday at the age of 80.

Amosun represented by Deputy Governor Yetunde Onanuga, promised government support for the burial of the monarch, asking the council to carry government along in the arrangements for the final rites so as to give him the befitting burial.

She said the news of the death was painful and unfortunate because during his lifetime he was a symbol of exemplary traditional ruler.
